Afghani, one of the oldest and most renowned cannabis strains, hails from the rugged and mountainous regions of Afghanistan. This pure indica strain is named after its geographic origin, which is part of the broader Hindu Kush mountain range. For centuries, indigenous communities in Afghanistan have cultivated Afghani cannabis for its potent resin production, a practice that dates back to ancient times.
